Man this movie made my blood boil. What warped parents do this to their child and the boyfriend, it’s be four years get over it, but the mother couldn’t stand up to her abusive husband!? Is there really people like that out there? I truly must live in a bubble and a world of my own. Wonderfully written, wonderful cinematography, great actors.

It's a topic used in many movies and series, I'm tempted to believe there are more movies about people being lied to after a memory loss than there are actual people with the same story, after all getting into as many situations as possible that might make your brain remember who you are is the best known way to recovery. In the end it's a story about a homophobic father who gets what he deserves, while in reality religious nonsense all too often plays out the other way around, where a modern society likes the outcome of the movie because it's how all of these cases should play out in reality as well. Personally I would like it even better if the real stories never got to a point where homophobic parents influence their (grown up) children, to my mind a modern society should provide options where all the victims of such parents can find help and support, where parents don't have the option to deny their childrens partner access to the hospital room.
